British Community Ethical Framework — FMO (GM)

The Forum of Muslim Organisations (Greater Manchester) advises mosques and communities to engage with politics locally and nationally. Our recommendations reflect the following community priorities — use them as a starting point for your own conversations with candidates.

1
Better, more inclusive local spending — dedicated youth hubs, culturally sensitive sports facilities, mental health investment and tackling knife crime.
2
Challenge Islamophobia & all hate crime — local online reporting tools, formal monitoring of anti-Muslim hatred, and training for the NHS and schools.
3
Solidarity on ethical concerns — environment, the wealth divide, AI governance, and divestment from arms trade partnerships where ethical standards are compromised.
4
Local issues decided by the community — transparency on council tax, bin collections, potholes, and safety — councillors should be held to account on the priorities you set.
5
NHS & neighbourhood services — community voices heard through NHS and Neighbourhood Boards; ethical framework for NHS decisions including removal of Palantir from the NHS Federated Data Platform.
